In a turn worthy of George R.R. Martin, there is an actual question about the true “King of the North” for the first time in almost two decades. With Aaron Rodgers crossing the Narrow Sea -- the Hudson in this case? -- the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Bears all sense the winds shifting in their favor after years of submission within the division. Whether or not they’re right about the Green Bay Packers’ regal vulnerability will be up to Matt LaFleur, Jordan Love, and Co. this season.

You know the dynamic has changed when Chicago interior defensive linemen start popping off as Justin Jones did in front of Bears media on Tuesday.

“I wish he was playing one more year with Green Bay, honestly,” Jones said of Rodgers’ absence.

“We went up there and we played a pretty good game … but they got away from us at the end, obviously. And they won but their fans are really shitty. So yeah, I want to go back up there and I want to play then and I want to beat them. I want him to be there so he can see it. But the fact that’s gone for now, I mean it’s cool. I guess it’s better for him to be here. But yeah, I’m ready to take it over. I mean it’s a good time to be a Bears fan; I’m not going to lie to you.”

According to Locked on Bears host Lorin Cox, the Bears pulled the video of Jones’ remarks. Still, the internet never forgets.
