The transition to a post-Aaron Rodgers offense required months of trial and error, but the Packers gradually built a new approach and identity around Jordan Love and a young receiving corps.
Excellent explanation of the evolution of the passing game in 2023. With a full year under his belt and a plethora of returning receivers to to pick from , coach should expand on his playcalling in 2024. Cant weight to watch.
I think the biggest takeaways are that LaFleur recentered the offense around concepts the new personnel are better equipped to execute and that the coaching staff believes Wicks can handle just about any role in these staple passing concepts.
I love this! Is there anyway you could add X's & O's of the plays though? I'd like to see Strike & Yankee on top of each other because I know there's two guys going deep in each from the description but it's hard to know the exact differences. Plus googling "strike" & "football" gets me a lot of old news items to sort thrrough.
Hey Dave! I added the play diagrams for strike, Yankee, and the other concepts from the most recent edition of the Packers' playbook I have. Keep in mind that these are hardly the only versions of those plays, some of which go by different names (in addition to "blazer," Yankee variations include "rider," "pylon," "pylon post," etc.).
Very cool and informative! GPG!!
Thank you for reading and supporting us!
Really nice article. Lover the way you break-down specifics - just what we need.
I appreciate that, Norm. Thanks for reading!
