Re-evaluating our offseason priors about the 2025 Packers one month into the season
Back in July, The Leap's co-founders ranked the most important non-QBs on the Packers. A month into the season, what have we learned about the hierarchy of those players?
With the Green Bay Packers idle until they return from the bye next week, the coaching staff will use the next few days to self scout and re-evaluate. Likewise, we can use this break in the action to examine our offseason priors about the team and see where expectations and reality meet and where they diverge.
Back in July, Peter and I debated the most important non-quarterback players on the 2025 Packers roster. We intended that exercise to spotlight the personnel who do the most to lift the team and for whom Green Bay has the fewest apparent quality replacement options. While our lists somewhat differed, we mostly landed in the same place on several names.
So, how well do those assumptions hold up a month into the 2025 regular season? What have we learned about not only these players but the general shape of the roster as well? We’ll answer these questions by reviewing each of the selections made back in July.
