What last season's 2-0 starts tells us about the currently undefeated Packers
The 2025 Packers look well positioned to compete for the Super Bowl right now. However, history has some warnings for at least some teams that start 2-0.
Entering Week 3, only 10 NFL teams have a perfect 2-0 record. That list includes the Green Bay Packers, who dominated two quality opponents in a span of five days.
The data for these hot starts paints a rosy picture. Since the league installed the current playoff format in 2021, teams that start 2-0 have a 77.4% chance of reaching the postseason, a difference of more than 33 percentage points from those with 1-1 records and nearly quintuple the likelihood of 0-2 squads ultimately reaching the tournament. The vast majority of the undefeated teams should feel great about their prospects even at this early point in the season.
