What we're hearing about Packers assistant coaches and the 2026 hiring cycle

The Packers have a lot on the line over the next three games. For some of their assistant coaches, the upcoming weeks will hold additional significance.

On Saturday, the Green Bay Packers will face off against the Chicago Bears. That matchup will have significant consequences for both teams, as the winner will take control of the NFC North and gain the inside track for a top-2 seed in the playoff field.

But for certain parties, that game and the next few weeks will hold additional significance.

Multiple members of the Packers’ coaching staff could have opportunities for bigger jobs once the hiring cycle officially kicks off after the regular season. While not the first time that the team’s assistants have garnered interest, head coach Matt LaFleur’s staff has remained remarkably stable in recent years, save for the changes he elected to make. In 2026, other organizations could dictate who stays in Green Bay.

To get a handle on how the hiring cycle will unfold, The Leap spoke with a variety of contacts in and around the NFL and college ranks to gauge the job prospects of those Packers coaches. This is what we’ve learned.
